Qatar 2022 World Cup: Marcus Rashford's Goal Sends England Through to the Round of 16

England and the United States, both playing in Group B, advanced to the Round of 16 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

England secured their place in the next round after defeating Wales 3-0 in their final Group B match. Meanwhile, the United States advanced to the Round of 16 after a 1-0 victory over Iran.

Playing at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in the early hours of Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 (WIB), the England national team earned a full three points. This win brought their total to 7 points, resulting from two wins and one draw.

England's victory began with a free kick from Marcus Rashford in the 50th minute, which found the back of the Welsh net. Phil Foden added a second goal in the 52nd minute, making the score 2-0. Rashford then scored again in the 68th minute, securing a 3-0 victory for England.

Rashford was named Man of the Match and led The Three Lions to the Round of 16.

The United States joined England in the next round after their final Group B match, a 1-0 win against Iran. This victory gave the US team 5 points, from one win and two draws.

Playing at the Al Thumama Stadium in the early hours of Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 (WIB), the Yanks (nickname for the US national team) scored against Iran in the 38th minute through Cristian Pulisic, making the score 1-0. No further goals were scored.
