Manchester City won the 2022-2023 Champions League after defeating Inter Milan in the final match at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium on Sunday, June 11, 2023 (WIB). The Citizens secured a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to a goal scored by Rodrigo Hernández in the 68th minute.
This win marks Man City's first-ever Champions League trophy. They had previously reached the final two seasons ago but lost to Chelsea.
The Champions League trophy completes the club's treble this season. Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, the club successfully won three trophies: the FA Cup, the English Premier League, and the Champions League.
This achievement equals that of their city rivals, Manchester United, who previously achieved a treble in the 1998-1999 season. Man City is now the second English team to achieve a treble.
For Guardiola, this is his second treble, following his success with Barcelona in the 2008-2009 season.
