Five Papuan Regencies Had the Highest Construction Cost Index in 2021

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that five regencies in Papua had the highest Construction Cost Index (CCI) scores in Indonesia in 2020. Puncak Regency ranked highest with a CCI score of 478.12 points.

Intan Jaya Regency was second with a CCI score of 447.97 points. Following this was Puncak Jaya Regency with a CCI score of 446.4 points.

The CCI score in Membramo Tengah Regency was recorded at 373.08 points. Meanwhile, Pegunungan Bintang Regency had a CCI score of 360.05 points.

Meanwhile, Malaka Regency in East Nusa Tenggara had the lowest CCI score, namely 81 points. Above it were Palu City, Central Sulawesi, and Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi, with CCI scores of 81.17 points and 81.41 points, respectively.

The Construction Cost Index (CCI) is used as a proxy to measure the level of geographical difficulty of an area. The more difficult the geographical location of an area, the higher the construction cost.
