Kompas Research and Development released survey results regarding the performance of vice-presidential candidates (cawapres) in the fourth Presidential Election (Pilpres) debate held on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
Vice-presidential candidate number 3, Mahfud MD, recorded the highest public satisfaction rate. 78.9% of respondents stated satisfaction, 20.4% dissatisfaction, and 0.7% were unsure.
Next, vice-presidential candidate number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was deemed satisfactory by 68% of respondents, while 30.6% were dissatisfied and 1.4% were unsure.
Then, vice-presidential candidate number 1, Muhaimin Iskandar, ranked last with 61.2% of respondents expressing satisfaction, 38.1% dissatisfaction, and 0.7% unsure.
The aspects assessed in this satisfaction survey included the ability to answer questions fluently and clearly, mastery of the issues, and the candidates' on-stage appearance—including their clothing, demeanor, and expressions.
From these aspects, Kompas Research and Development recorded that each candidate generally received a good rating with an average score of 7 out of 10.
In detail, regarding on-stage appearance, Mahfud received a score of 7.7. Meanwhile, in terms of ability to answer questions and mastery of issues, he received scores of 7.4 each.
Gibran received a public rating score of 7.1 for answering questions, 7 for mastery of issues, and 7.3 for his appearance during the debate.
Meanwhile, Muhaimin, also known as Cak Imin, achieved a score of 6.9 in the aspects of answering questions and mastery of issues, and 7.6 for his on-stage appearance.
This Kompas Research and Development survey was conducted on January 21, 2024, from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM WIB, during the fourth debate.
A total of 227 respondents were randomly selected from the Kompas Research and Development panel data according to the population proportion in each province. The margin of error is approximately 6.5% at a 95% confidence level, under the condition of simple random sampling.
