SMRC Survey: 71.7% of the Public Satisfied with President Jokowi's Performance

According to a survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), 71.7% of respondents were satisfied with the overall performance of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

16.3% of respondents were very satisfied, and 55.4% were quite satisfied. 25.3% of respondents reported dissatisfaction with Jokowi's performance, with 22% stating they were less satisfied and 3.3% stating they were not satisfied at all. The remaining 3% did not know/did not answer.

This level of satisfaction with Jokowi's performance aligns with respondent satisfaction regarding the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of 75% of respondents stated they were very or quite satisfied with the government's handling of the pandemic. Meanwhile, 22% were less or not satisfied, and 3% did not answer.

Regarding economic management, 60.1% of respondents were very or quite satisfied with the government's performance in handling the economic recovery from Covid-19. 34.7% responded that they were less or not satisfied, and 5.2% did not know or did not answer.

This survey was conducted from December 8-16, 2021, through direct interviews involving 2420 randomly selected respondents from across the Indonesian population aged 17 years or older, or who were married. The response rate (validly interviewed respondents) was 2062 or 85%. The margin of error is estimated at ± 2.2% at a 95% confidence level.
