The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State, affiliated with ISIS, caused 1,060 deaths, an increase from 891 deaths in 2017. This terrorist group is active in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Similar to ISIS, the Khorasan group's attacks predominantly involved bombs, accounting for 59% of their total attacks. Khorasan also carried out armed attacks, assassinations, and kidnappings targeting civilians, police, military personnel, and government officials.
