This is a comparison of PDI Perjuangan's vote share from the 1999-2019 General Elections.

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has consistently shown the highest electability in various political surveys leading up to the 2024 general election.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), PDIP secured 27.05 million votes (19.33%) out of a total of 139.77 million valid national votes in the 2019 election.

This achievement positioned PDIP as the political party with the most votes in the 2019 election, winning the largest number of seats in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) – 128 seats. This percentage is also the highest achievement since the 2004 election, as shown in the graph.

In 1999, the first election after the reformation, PDIP garnered 35.62 million votes (33.75%) out of 105.55 million valid national votes. This achievement secured 153 seats for the party, symbolized by a white-muzzled banteng (gaur), in the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI).

However, in the 2004 election, PDIP only managed to collect 21.03 million (18.53%) of the 113.4 million valid national votes. This resulted in 109 PDIP representatives in the DPR RI.

Similarly, in the 2009 election, PDIP's vote share decreased to only 14.58 million (14.01%) out of 104.05 million total valid national votes. The number of PDIP representatives in the DPR RI also decreased to only 94.

Then, in the 2014 election, PDIP's vote share increased to 23.67 million votes (18.96%) out of a total of 124.88 million valid national votes. This resulted in an increase in the number of PDIP representatives in the DPR RI to 109.
