Puan Maharani is a female member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) who received the most votes in the 2019 legislative election (Pileg). The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded that the Speaker of the DPR RI received 404,034 votes.
This legislative candidate (caleg), number 1 from the Central Java 5 electoral district (Dapil), surpassed her fellow PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) party member, Adriana C. Dondokambey, who received 213,224 votes.
The Speaker of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period, who was once touted as a potential presidential candidate in 2024, also outperformed the male candidate with the most votes, Cornelis (PDIP), who received 285,797 votes.
Of the 10 DPR RI members with the most votes in the 2019 election, five were from PDIP, three from the National Democrat Party (Nasdem), one from the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), and one from the Golkar Party.
