The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker), Immanuel Ebenezer, in a sting operation (OTT) on Wednesday evening, August 20, 2025.
"It's true (Immanuel Ebenezer was arrested)," said KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto, as reported by Katadata on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
Fitroh stated that Immanuel was caught in the OTT for alleged extortion from a company handling occupational safety and health (K3) certification.
However, there has been no further explanation regarding this case. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the status of those arrested.
Before serving as Wamenaker, Immanuel was known as a Jokowi Mania (JoMan) volunteer and ran as a legislative candidate for the Gerindra Party in North Kalimantan during the 2024 General Election.
According to the KPK's State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), Immanuel reported assets worth Rp17.62 billion in 2024.
This report was submitted to the KPK on January 17, 2025, when he had just taken office at the Ministry of Manpower.
The majority of his assets come from self-owned land and buildings in Depok worth Rp12.14 billion.
He also reported transportation assets worth Rp3.33 billion, cash and cash equivalents of Rp2.02 billion, and other movable assets worth Rp109.5 million.
