Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) has released the results of its latest survey on the electability of gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidates in the 2024 East Java Regional Elections (Pilkada).

The results show that the pair Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak achieved the highest electability rating at 52.5%.

"This achievement is quite dominant compared to the other candidate pairs," wrote the Kompas Litbang researcher in their report on Friday, November 15, 2024.

In second place is the pair Tri Rismaharini and Zahrul Azhar Asumta, also known as Gus Hans, who received 20.9% of the vote from respondents.

The pair Luluk Nur Hamidah and Lukmanul Hakim are in last place with an electability rating of 3.8%. Meanwhile, 22.8% of respondents have not yet decided on their choice for the 2024 Regional Elections.

"The level of electability is inseparable from the factors of recognition and preference of voters towards the three candidate pairs. The lower the popularity, the lower the electability," wrote Litbang Kompas.

Khofifah-Emil has a popularity rating of 90.1% among the public. The Risma-Gus Hans pair stands at 63.3%, and Luluk-Lukmanul at 18.8%.

The survey involved 800 respondents randomly selected using a stratified systematic sampling method in East Java.

Data collection was conducted from November 2-7, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 3.46% with a 95% confidence level, under conditions of simple random sampling.
