Jakarta Residents Largely Dissatisfied with Heru Budi's Performance

An Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) poll shows that a majority, or 59.6%, of respondents reported dissatisfaction with Heru Budi Hartono's performance as Acting Governor of Jakarta during the 2022-2024 period.

This proportion comprises 41% of respondents who were somewhat dissatisfied and 18.6% who were very dissatisfied.

"The satisfaction rate for Jakarta's Acting Governor after Anies, Heru Budi Hartono, remains below 50%," said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan in an online presentation of the survey on Wednesday (23/10/2024).

Meanwhile, 30.1% of respondents stated satisfaction with Heru Budi's performance. This breaks down into 1.4% very satisfied and 28.7% somewhat satisfied.

Furthermore, 10.3% of respondents either did not know or did not answer the survey questions.

LSI also found that several pressing issues in Jakarta require immediate public attention.

The main problems faced by Jakarta residents are the high cost of living (33.1%), difficulty finding jobs (17.2%), flooding (9.1%), and poverty (5.3%).

The LSI survey involved 1,200 respondents in Jakarta, aged 17 and above or married. Respondents were selected using a multistage random sampling method.

Data collection was conducted from October 10-17, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
