The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released the results of its latest survey on the Jakarta gubernatorial election electoral map after the first gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidate debate on October 6, 2024.

In a simulation of three gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial candidate pairs in Jakarta, Pramono Anung-Rano Karno, also known as "Si Doel," took the lead with 41.6%.

The pair, nominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), surpassed Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, who had led in the previous LSI survey. Their electability now stands at 37.4%.

However, according to LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan, Pramono-Doel's lead is not significant because the difference is only about 4%, with a margin of error of 2.9%.

"Statistically, we don't know who is ahead; Pramono Anung and Ridwan Kamil are both equally strong at this point. However, the absolute numbers tend to show Pramono Anung's advantage," said Djayadi in an online presentation of his survey on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, the independent pair Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana were only chosen by 6.6% of respondents. Furthermore, 14.4% of respondents did not know or did not answer which candidate they supported.

This survey involved 1,200 respondents in Jakarta, with the criteria of being 17 years of age or older, or married. Respondents were selected using multistage random sampling.

Data collection was conducted from October 10-17, 2024, through face-to-face interviews. The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level.
