The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) conducted a political survey covering economic, political, security, legal, democratic conditions, presidential performance, and simulations of 2024 presidential candidates.
Regarding President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) performance, the survey shows a slight increase in respondent satisfaction, reaching 82% on April 17, 2023, compared to 76.8% on April 9, 2023.
"The majority are satisfied with President Jokowi's work, 82%," wrote LSI in its report published on Wednesday (May 3, 2023).
This proportion consists of 12.3% very satisfied and 69.7% quite satisfied. Meanwhile, 15.9% were somewhat dissatisfied, and 1.6% were completely dissatisfied. 0.5% chose to answer "don't know" or "didn't answer" (TT/TJ).

Assessment of General Conditions
Respondents were also asked to assess the general conditions prevailing at the time of the survey.
Regarding economic conditions, the public felt that conditions were moderate (44.2%), very good and good (28.7%), and very bad and bad (26.4%).
For national political conditions, more respondents felt they were moderate (42.7%), very good and good (32.7%), and very bad and bad (16.5%).
In contrast, law enforcement was rated as good and very good (45.5%), moderate (33.4%), and bad and very bad (19.5%).
Regarding democracy, respondents who felt very satisfied and satisfied totaled 72.5%, while those who were somewhat dissatisfied and completely dissatisfied totaled 22.6%.
The survey was conducted among Indonesian citizens with voting rights in general elections—those aged 17 or older, or those who were married at the time of the survey.
From this population, 1,220 respondents were randomly selected (multistage random sampling). Data was collected from April 12-17, 2023.
The margin of error is approximately 2.9% at a 95% confidence level, assuming simple random sampling.
Selected respondents were interviewed face-to-face by trained interviewers.
