The General Election Commission (KPU) has announced the final vote count for the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg). Eight out of 18 political parties secured seats in the Indonesian parliament (Senayan) by exceeding the 4% parliamentary threshold.
A total of 151,796,631 valid votes were cast in the 2024 Pileg. The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) received the most votes with 25,387,279 votes, representing 16.72% of the total valid votes.
Golkar Party came in second with 23,208,654 votes, followed by the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) in third place with 20,071,708 votes.
The composition of parties entering parliament this year is not significantly different from the 2019 election results. Of the nine parties that qualified then, one party, the United Development Party (PPP), failed to meet the threshold this time.
The PPP, with its Ka'bah logo, only received 5,878,777 votes (3.87% of the total valid votes), falling short of the minimum requirement stipulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
Besides the PPP, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) was also expected to enter parliament. However, the KPU's final count shows that the party led by President Joko Widodo's youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, only received 2.81% of the vote.
