KPK Suspect, Ahmad Muhdlor's Assets Increased by Rp1.8 Billion During His Term

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor, also known as Gus Muhdlor, as a corruption suspect. He is suspected of taking kickbacks from the Sidoarjo Regional Revenue Service (BPPD).

"The individual served as the Regent of Sidoarjo Regency from 2021 to the present," said KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement and Institutional Affairs, Ali Fikri, in a statement, as reported by *Kompas.com* on Tuesday (16/4/2024).

So, how much is Ahmad Muhdlor's wealth?

Based on the KPK's State Officials' Wealth Report (LHKPN), Muhdlor first reported his assets when he ran for Sidoarjo Regent in 2020.

At that time, his reported wealth amounted to Rp2.96 billion. Then, in his first year as Regent of Sidoarjo, Ahmad Muhdlor's wealth increased by approximately Rp1.17 billion to Rp4.13 billion in 2021.

Most recently, Gus Muhdlor reported his wealth on March 6, 2023, valued at Rp4.77 billion for the 2022 period. This is an increase of Rp638 million from 2021.

In total, Muhdlor's wealth increased by Rp1.8 billion from 2020 to 2022.

Components of Wealth in 2022

The latest data from 2022 shows that the largest component of his wealth comes from other movable assets, reaching Rp3.68 billion.

This is followed by property assets worth Rp1.73 billion; Muhdlor owns two plots of land and buildings in Sidoarjo that he acquired himself.

The Sidoarjo Regent also has assets in the form of cash and cash equivalents totaling Rp1.64 billion and securities worth Rp900 million.

In addition, Ahmad Muhdlor is also recorded as owning a 2011 Honda Jazz and a 2014 Honda Beat motorcycle worth Rp183.5 million.

Although Gus Muhdlor claims to only own one car, KPK investigators have seized three cars after searching his official residence in January.

"A number of funds in foreign currency and three four-wheeled vehicles were also secured," said Ali on Wednesday (31/1/2024).

Furthermore, the PKS politician is also recorded as having debts totaling Rp3.37 billion in 2022.
