The General Election Commission (KPU) has declared 17 national political parties and 6 local Aceh political parties as participants in the 2024 General Election on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. This is stated in KPU Decision Letter No. 518 of 2022.
KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari said this is in accordance with Law No. 7 of 2017, which stipulates that the determination of participating political parties in the election is carried out 14 months before the voting day.
The following is a timeline of the political party selection process to become participants in the 2024 General Election:
August 1-14, 2022: 40 political parties registered with the KPU as prospective participants in the 2024 General Election.
September 14, 2022: The KPU declared that 24 political parties passed the administrative verification, namely:

3. Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS)
4. Partai Persatuan Indonesia (Perindo)
5. Partai Nasdem

December 14, 2022: The KPU declared that 17 political parties passed to become participants in the 2024 General Election. The only political party that did not pass the factual verification was Partai Ummat because it was deemed not to meet the requirements in 2 provinces, namely East Nusa Tenggara and North Sulawesi.
