Three Survey Institutes: Public Satisfied with Jokowi's Performance

The majority of the public express satisfaction with the performance of President Joko Widodo's leadership (Jokowi). Results from three survey institutions show that more than 50 percent of respondents were satisfied with Jokowi's three years in office, since his inauguration on October 20, 2014.

First, a national survey conducted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) from August 23-30, 2017, indicated that 68.3 percent of one thousand respondents across all provinces were satisfied with President Jokowi's performance. 31.5 percent were dissatisfied, and the remainder were unsure/did not answer.

Second, a national survey by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) conducted from September 3-10, 2017, showed that 68 percent of 1,057 respondents were satisfied with Jokowi's performance. Only 29 percent of respondents were dissatisfied, and the rest answered unsure/did not answer. Third, the Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group (KedaiKopi) recorded that 55.7 percent of 800 respondents in eight major cities were satisfied with Jokowi's performance. 43.3 percent were dissatisfied, and the remainder did not answer/were unsure.
