Based on a survey conducted by the Indonesian Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group (KedaiKOPI), several aspects of the law in Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) government performance have not been achieved and are considered a red flag by respondents.
The results show that 62.1% of respondents believe that Jokowi has not been able to achieve a government project free from corruption/nepotism.
Furthermore, 55.9% of respondents assessed that corruption eradication during Jokowi's era has not been achieved. Then, 54.5% of respondents believe that fair law enforcement has not been achieved under the current government.
"This survey shows the weakness of Jokowi's government performance in handling corruption cases. Fair law enforcement, an aspect of this legal issue, is a red flag from the public for President Jokowi's administration," said KedaiKOPI Political Communication Analyst Rosnindar Prio Eko Rahardjo, as quoted from an online conference on Friday (23/6/2023).
On the other hand, Eko stated that respondents' assessment of Jokowi's performance on access to health and education services is quite good.
A recorded 72.6% of respondents stated the government has achieved access to healthcare services for the public. Meanwhile, 70.3% of respondents stated the government has achieved access to education services for all Indonesian people.
Furthermore, 51.4% of respondents said they received a decent wage under Jokowi's administration.
The remaining aspects related to the economy are still considered low because the majority of respondents believe the government has not achieved a number of these aspects above 50%. This includes affordable staple food prices, fair selling prices for agriculture/livestock, and the public obtaining decent jobs.
KedaiKOPI conducted this survey from May 29 to June 7, 2023, involving 1,200 respondents aged 17-65 years spread across 38 Indonesian provinces. 50.5% were male, and 49.5% were female.
The majority of respondents were from urban areas (53.3%) with a high school education level, and a middle socio-economic status (SES) (75.8%).
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews (home visits) with a margin of error of ±2.83% and a 95% confidence level.
