A report from Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the volume of textile industry exports reached 786.91 million tons from January to June 2024.
This weight increased by 4.8% year-on-year (yoy) compared to the same period the previous year (750.84 million tons in January-June 2023).
Despite the increase in weight, the value decreased. BPS recorded a FOB value of US$1.77 trillion for textile industry goods during January-June 2024, down 3.14% (yoy) from US$1.83 trillion in the same period last year.
Indonesia's largest textile export was man-made staple fibers, weighing 372.64 million tons from January to June 2024.
The volume increased by 18.78% (yoy) from 313.71 million tons previously. Its value contributed US$517.79 billion in January-June 2024.
The second largest export was spun yarn, weighing 220.44 million tons, a decrease of 12.69% (yoy) from 252.48 million tons previously.
Third was man-made filament yarn/thread/strip at 57.24 million tons, a surge of 25.39% (yoy) from 45.65 million tons in January-June 2023.
Fourth was woven fabrics, at 51.27 million tons in January-June 2024. The volume decreased by 5.38% (yoy) from 54.18 million tons previously.
Fifth was other textile goods, at 50.68 million tons, down 4.17% (yoy) from 52.88 million tons last year.

* Embroidered fabrics: 145,500 tons
* Silk: 7,100 tons
* Total textile industry: 786,910,800 tons.
