What are the Spider-Man Franchise's Earnings Over Time?

Sony and Disney failed to reach an agreement. This resulted in the end of Spider-Man's journey in Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This is despite the fact that Spider-Man films, produced by Sony and Marvel Studios, are among the highest-grossing films in the world box office.

Up to 2019, eight films had been released, including one animated version by Sony Pictures Animation. Spider-Man: Far From Home, a collaboration between Sony and Disney released in mid-2019, became the highest-grossing Spider-Man film, reaching US$1.1 billion at the worldwide box office. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Homecoming ranked third, grossing US$880.2 million. This figure is only US$10.7 million less than Spider-Man 3 in 2007, which ranked second. The total revenue generated from the Marvel and Sony collaboration amounted to US$1.9 billion.

Meanwhile, the first Spider-Man film, released in 2002, grossed US$821.7 million, ranking fourth. This is followed by Spider-Man 2 with US$783.8 million and The Amazing Spider-Man with US$757.9 million. Finally, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse grossed US$709 million and US$375.5 million respectively. The total revenue from the Spider-Man series amounts to US$791.2 million.
