"Wicked: For Good" Debuts at the Top of the North American Box Office in Late 2025

The film Wicked: For Good, produced by Universal Studio, successfully garnered a gross revenue of US$162.75 million during its opening week in North American cinemas.

According to data from The Numbers, this makes Wicked: For Good the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation film debut of all time, as of November 24, 2025.

This figure surpasses the record previously held by its first film, Wicked (2024), which recorded an opening revenue of US$112.5 million.

Furthermore, Wicked: For Good's debut is also the second largest of 2025, ranking just below A Minecraft Movie, which claimed the top spot with US$162.75 million.

The Numbers projects that Wicked: For Good will close the Thanksgiving holiday period with domestic revenue exceeding US$300 million, and potentially end the year with total revenue between US$400 million and US$450 million.

"With a solid performance, this film has a great chance to become the highest-grossing film of the calendar year, although it is still too early to predict the outcome," wrote The Numbers in its report on Sunday (November 23, 2025). 

As for Wicked: For Good, it continues the story of the relationship between Elphaba (Cynthia) and Glinda (Ariana Grande) as they embrace their new identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
