3-Month Nickel Commodity Futures Price Rises to US$17,570/Ton (Monday, February 23, 2026)

Westmetall recorded that the 3-month forward nickel commodity price rose 1.27% today to the level of US$17,570 per ton. This price increase is quite high compared to the average price movement in the past week.

The nickel commodity price saw its highest weekly jump on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1.27%. Meanwhile, trading since the start of the year has strengthened with a year-to-date growth of 3.87%.

Current conditions reverse the downward trend of the 3-month forward nickel commodity price over the past four days.

Over the past week, the 3-month forward nickel commodity price movement grew by -0.57% with an average daily transaction price of US$17,145 per ton. Meanwhile, compared to the position 30 days ago, the nickel commodity price movement has grown by -3.2%. So far this year, the highest trading value for nickel commodity was transacted at US$18,975 per ton on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Annually, the average trading price of 3-month forward nickel commodity has been on a downward trend over the past five years. Meanwhile, for monthly price monitoring, transactions in the last 12 months tend to rise. The highest monthly average nickel commodity price was recorded in January 2026 at US$18,030 per ton.

The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs recorded that in the first half of 2023, the year-on-year value of nickel and its derivative exports reached US$19.47 billion or equivalent to Rp301 trillion. In 2022, the export value of this commodity reached US$34.28 billion or Rp530.1 trillion. Exports of nickel and its derivatives are predicted to rise up to 20 times by 2025 due to the Indonesian government's downstream program.
