September 2022, Poverty Line in West Nusa Tenggara Rp. 367,540 per Capita per Month

The per capita food poverty line in West Nusa Tenggara province was Rp. 367,540 per capita per month in 2022. This figure is up by Rp. 24,746 compared to the previous semester's data, which was recorded at Rp. 342,790 per capita per month.

Looking back, the average increase in the poverty line over the past three years is 3.57 percent. This figure is higher than the average for the previous three years (2016-2019), which stood at 2.41 percent.

The Poverty Line (PL) reflects the minimum rupiah expenditure needed by a person to meet their basic needs for a month, including both food and non-food needs.

The poverty line consists of two components. The food poverty line is the minimum expenditure for food needs, equivalent to 2100 kilocalories per capita per day. The non-food poverty line is the minimum expenditure for non-food needs such as housing, clothing, education, and health.

As stated in the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) report, the highest semester-on-semester growth of the poverty line in this province in seven years was 7.22 percent, and the lowest was 0.15 percent, with an upward trend in the poverty line. This year's poverty line growth is still higher than before the Covid-19 pandemic.

Based on island, out of a total of nine provinces in Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara's poverty line ranks sixth. Compared to the national average, growth in this province is higher.
