Crypto Prices Plummet: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin Down

The heated geopolitical situation in Europe is adding to the concerns of cryptocurrency investors. The tension between Russia and Ukraine has put pressure on the prices of crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.

According to Coinbase, the digital currency market as a whole experienced a 1.21% correction in today's trading, Monday, February 14, 2022, until 2:28 PM WIB.

Avalanche led the decline in cryptocurrency prices today. In the last 24 hours, the cryptocurrency with the trading code AVAX fell 5.87% to Rp 1.12 million per coin. This was followed by XRP, which fell 4.34% to Rp 11,380 per coin; Binance Coin (BNB), down 2.54% to Rp 5.65 million per coin; Solana (SOL), down 2.33% to Rp 1.35 million per coin; and Cardano (ADA), which also fell 2.26% to Rp 14,780 per coin.

Following these were Ethereum (ETH), whose price corrected by 1.72% to Rp 41.12 million per coin; Terra (LUNA), down 1.65% to Rp 753,230 per coin; Bitcoin (BTC), down 0.57% to Rp 604.45 million per coin; Dogecoin (DOGE), down 0.29% to Rp 2,080 per coin; and Tether (USDT), which also corrected by 0.16% to Rp 14,330 per coin.

These ten cryptocurrencies have a combined market capitalization of over Rp 250 trillion. BTC has the largest capitalization, reaching Rp 11.45 quadrillion. AVAX has the lowest capitalization, at only Rp 258 trillion.

Currently, Indonesian citizens can trade cryptocurrencies, one platform being Indodax. Based on data from the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti), there are currently more than 200 types of crypto assets that can be included in investment portfolios in Indonesia.
