According to a report by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the disbursement of fintech lending or online loans (pinjol) in Indonesia reached Rp19.73 trillion in March 2023. West Java dominated national loan disbursement.
Recorded disbursement of online loans in West Java reached Rp5.15 trillion in March 2023. This means that 26.1% of Indonesia's online loan disbursement was directed to borrowers in that province.
DKI Jakarta ranked second with the largest online loan disbursement, reaching Rp4.19 trillion. Disbursement from this province amounted to 21.23% of the total national loan disbursement.
Next, East Java, Banten, and Central Java had online loan disbursements of Rp2.75 trillion, Rp1.73 trillion, and Rp1.47 trillion, respectively.

On the other hand, the province with the lowest online loan disbursement in March 2023 was North Kalimantan, at only Rp19.9 billion. This was followed by West Papua at Rp22.84 billion.
