Half of Bank Mandiri Transactions via Mobile and Internet Banking

Bank Mandiri's transactions throughout the first quarter of 2017 reached 824 million. More than half of these transactions were conducted via mobile banking and internet banking. Transactions through both services have surged since 2009. However, the integration of these two services by Bank Mandiri experienced problems, resulting in the temporary closure of Mandiri Online services last week.

Bank Mandiri customers conducted 311 million transactions using mobile banking and 154 million transactions using internet banking. Meanwhile, 313 million transactions were conducted via ATMs, while only 46 million were conducted through branch offices.

The number of Bank Mandiri customer transactions using mobile banking in March 2017 surged nearly 2,500 percent from its position at the end of 2009, and those using internet banking increased by more than 800 percent. Meanwhile, transactions via ATMs increased by only 120 percent, and those through branch offices grew by only 17.9 percent.
