East Java, the Province with the Most Forestry Partnership Licenses

Forestry Partnerships are a program scheme under Social Forestry (PS). They are divided into two forms: Kulin KK (Forestry Partnership Protection Recognition) and IPHPS (Social Forestry Forest Utilization Permit). Kulin KK is spread across Java and outside Java, while IPHPS is specifically located in Java. This PS scheme is a form of cooperation between the community and the holder of forest management permits in their area.

The type of cooperation is agreed upon by the community and the holder of the forest area management rights. This results in different partnership forms in each region. In certain areas, the cooperation involves collecting timber from community plantations for marketing; in other areas, community members become part of the planting workforce.

By the end of 2019, a total of 578 Decree Letters (SK) had been issued. East Java had the highest number of SKs, with 181. West Java was second with 91 SKs, half the number received by East Java. The IPHPS scheme, concentrated in Java, is spread across Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java. Kulin KK, on the other hand, is spread throughout Indonesia.
