The United States is the largest consumer of oil, with demand of approximately 20 million barrels per day.
Other countries among the top 10 largest oil consumers include China, India, Russia, Brazil, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, South Korea, and Germany.
Indonesia ranks 11th with demand of approximately 2 million barrels per day, followed by Iran, Mexico, France, and Thailand, as shown in the graph.
Combined, these 15 countries consumed approximately 70% of total global oil demand in 2023.
