2023 Data: Unemployment in Mandailing Natal Regency Reaches 7.45%

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released data showing that the open unemployment rate (OUR) in Mandailing Natal Regency reached 7.45% in 2023. This figure is a decrease of 0.19% compared to December 2022, which was recorded at 7.64%. However, compared to December 2021, the figure increased by 1.33%.

Over the past five years, the highest open unemployment rate (OUR) was recorded in 2022 at 7.64%, while the lowest was recorded in 2018 at 4.43%.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate (OUR) in this regency/city ranks 51st nationally. The national average open unemployment rate (OUR) in 2023 was 4.3%.

The decrease in the open unemployment rate (OUR) is reflected in the number of employed people and the labor force published by BPS this year. The labor force in Mandailing Natal Regency has shown an upward trend over the past 16 years and continued after the COVID-19 pandemic.
