The average employee salary or worker wage in Indonesia has increased over the last decade.
According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in August 2016, the national average employee salary was still Rp2.55 million per month.
Its value then gradually rose, reaching Rp3.33 million per month in August 2025.
This average employee salary in August 2025 increased by 1.94% compared to August last year (year-on-year).
When calculated cumulatively from August 2016 to August 2025, the average employee salary in Indonesia has increased by Rp778 thousand or grown by 30%.
In the last decade, the national average employee salary consistently increased every year, except for 2020—2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year, the highest average employee salary is in the information and communication sector, while the lowest is in the other services sector.
