According to a CFA Institute survey, 67% of young people globally aged 18-25 believe that artificial intelligence (AI) technology will make it difficult for them to find jobs.

This figure comprises 17% of respondents who feel it will be much more difficult and 50% who feel it will be slightly more difficult.

Furthermore, 18% believe AI will have no impact. Only 15% feel this technology could make it easier for them to find work, consisting of 12% slightly easier and 3% much easier.

Commenting on these findings, Peter Watkins, Senior Director of Programs at CFA Institute, believes that students are now aware that career success is not solely determined by a bachelor's degree.

"Today's students are proactively seeking to equip themselves with specialized skills, particularly in AI, which is rapidly becoming crucial in the financial sector," Watkins said in a press release (June 12, 2025).

"Graduates with AI literacy will have a significant advantage, ready to leverage this technology to achieve greater professional and personal success," he added.

The CFA Institute conducted this online survey from March 28 to April 22, 2025, involving 9,023 respondents aged 18-25 from 11 countries.

Respondents were those currently pursuing undergraduate/higher education or who had graduated from undergraduate/higher education within the last three years.
