Salary and compensation are the most significant considerations, accounting for 69%.

Other priorities include a supportive work environment (60%), long-term career opportunities (59%), work-life balance (53%), and opportunities for growth (53%).

Location or work flexibility (51%) and additional benefits (47%) are also important factors.

JakPat also surveyed Gen Z's preferred work patterns. A hybrid (online-offline) work model is the most popular, at 47%.

Remote work ("work from anywhere") is preferred by 30% of respondents, while working from the office ("work from office") is preferred by only 23%.

The JakPat survey involved 1,155 Gen Z respondents, narrowed down to 618 respondents who are currently employed or seeking employment. Gen Z is defined as individuals born between 1997 and 2012.

The respondents comprised 50% women and 50% men. The majority are from non-Jabodetabek areas in Java (44%), followed by Jabodetabek (28%), and outside Java (28%).

The online survey was conducted via the JakPat application from December 6-9, 2024, with a margin of error below 5%.
