According to a report by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), the number of employees laid off in Indonesia from January to October 2024 reached almost 64,000, precisely 63,947.
The highest number of layoffs was recorded in July and October, with the details shown in the graph.
Cumulatively, from January to October 2024, the most layoffs were recorded in DKI Jakarta (14,501 people), Central Java (12,489 people), Banten (10,702 people), West Java (8,508 people), and East Java (3,694 people).
Combined, the number of layoffs in these five provinces accounts for 78% of the total national layoffs.
However, this figure may not represent the entirety of layoff cases in Indonesia, as Kemnaker only records layoffs reported through the Manpower Service Information and Application System and/or industrial relations courts.
