Active BPJS Employment Participant Data - August 2024

According to data from the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), 39.18 million workers were registered as active participants in the Manpower Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) program in August 2024.

This comprises 25.84 million wage recipients (PU); 8.20 million non-wage recipients (BPU); and 5.14 million workers in the construction sector.

For PU workers, this figure includes active participants in the Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Insurance (JKm), Old-Age Security (JHT), and Pension Insurance (JP) programs.

BPU workers, however, are not included in the JP program, while construction workers are not included in the JKK and JKm programs.

Below is a list of the 10 provinces with the highest number of active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants nationally in August 2024:

1. DKI Jakarta: 7.72 million people
2. East Java: 4.56 million people
3. West Java: 4.53 million people
4. Central Java: 3.74 million people
5. Banten: 2.72 million people
6. North Sumatra: 1.84 million people
7. East Kalimantan: 1.20 million people
8. Riau: 1.06 million people
9. Bali: 984,400 people
10. South Sulawesi: 980.7 million people (Note: This figure seems unusually high and may be an error. It should likely be in the thousands, not millions.)

In August 2024, active BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership was highest among male workers, at 26.81 million, while female workers numbered 12.37 million.
