February 2023, Average Wage for Accommodation and Food and Beverage Workers in North Kalimantan: Rp. 2.83 Million

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average net monthly wage of formal workers in the accommodation and food service sector in North Kalimantan in February 2023 increased by Rp. 811,270 to Rp. 2.83 million compared to December 2022. Over the past seven years, the average wage for workers in the accommodation and food service sector has steadily increased, with a higher rate of increase than in previous years.

The average net monthly wage for formal workers in the accommodation and food service sector in the last five years experienced its highest growth in 2023 at 40.21% and its lowest in 2018, with a decrease of 21.74%.

According to the BPS, the average salary/wage for workers in this sector in North Kalimantan is Rp. 2.83 million. Compared to other provinces, the average salary/wage in the accommodation and food service sector in this province ranks fifth nationally.

Compared to 16 other sectors, the salary/wage of workers in this sector ranks 12th. Meanwhile, the sector with the highest salary/wage in this province is mining and quarrying, with a net monthly income of Rp. 5.51 million.

The second highest-paying sector is government administration, defense, and mandatory social security, with a monthly salary/wage of Rp. 4.35 million. Third is the financial services and insurance sector with a payment of Rp. 3.77 million.

The lowest-paying sector in this province is information and communication, with a monthly payment of Rp. 1.61 million.
