The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the national average wage for laborers/employees/staff reached Rp2.94 million per month in February 2023. This figure is higher than February 2022, which averaged Rp2.89 million per month.
Based on sector, the highest national average wage in February 2023 came from real estate at Rp4.82 million per month. This was followed by the financial activities sector at Rp4.81 million per month and mining at Rp4.59 million per month.
On the other hand, the lowest national average wage was in the other services sector at Rp1.79 million per month. This was followed by the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector at Rp2.06 million per month, and accommodation and food service activities at Rp2.14 million per month.
The following is a list of average wages in Indonesia by sector in February 2023:
1. Real Estate: Rp4.82 million per month
2. Financial and Insurance Activities: Rp4.81 million per month
3. Mining and Quarrying: Rp4.59 million per month
4. Information and Communication: Rp4.36 million per month
5. Electricity, Gas, Steam/Hot Water, and Air Conditioning Supply: Rp4.26 million per month
6. Public Administration, Defense, and Compulsory Social Security: Rp3.88 million per month
7. Transportation and Warehousing: Rp3.58 million per month
8. Health and Social Activities: Rp3.55 million per month
9. Professional and Business Services: Rp3.55 million per month
10. Construction: Rp3.05 million per month
11. Manufacturing Industry: Rp2.96 million per month
12. Waste Treatment and Recycling, and Remediation Activities: Rp2.6 million per month
13. Wholesale and Retail Trade, Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles: Rp2.49 million per month
14. Education: Rp2.47 million per month
15. Accommodation and Food Service Activities: Rp2.14 million per month
16. Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries: Rp2.06 million per month
17. Other Services: Rp1.79 million per month
Based on region, the highest national average wage was in DKI Jakarta at Rp5.07 million per month. This was followed by Papua at Rp4.15 million per month and Riau Islands at Rp4.14 million per month.
Meanwhile, the lowest national average wage was in West Sulawesi at Rp2.11 million per month, followed by East Nusa Tenggara at Rp2.14 million per month and Central Java at Rp2.17 million per month.
