2023 Data: Unemployment in Probolinggo City is 4.53%

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Probolinggo City in December 2023 decreased by 0.04% to 4.53% compared to December 2022. Over the past six years, the open unemployment rate (TPT) has steadily increased at a faster rate than in previous years.

The open unemployment rate (TPT) over the past five years reached its highest point in 2020 at 6.7% and its lowest in 2018 at 3.56%.

Compared to other regencies/cities, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in this regency/city ranks 215th nationally. The national average open unemployment rate (TPT) in 2023 was 4.3%.

The reduction in the open unemployment rate (TPT) this year can be seen from the conditions of the number of the workforce and the number of employed people. The number of the workforce in Probolinggo City has shown an upward trend over the past 14 years. In 2021, the number of workers was recorded at 130,480, increasing to 133,730 in 2023.
