According to data collected by the Indonesian Education Monitoring Network (JPPI), throughout 2024, there were 573 cases of violence in Indonesian basic and secondary education institutions.

These educational institutions include schools, madrasahs, and pesantren.

JPPI states that although teachers are often perpetrators in school violence cases, a significant number also become victims, with a proportion of 10.2% of the total cases.

Educational staff accounted for the next highest percentage of perpetrators, at 2.5%. The remaining 39.8% were categorized as "others."
