Premium Quality Granulated Sugar Prices in Modern Markets for the Period April 2025-2026

According to the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS) panel, the daily price of premium quality granulated sugar in modern markets in North Sumatra province is recorded at Rp19,300 per kg. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, as is the case with price developments over the past week.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily price of premium quality granulated sugar in modern markets has increased from the previously recorded Rp19,050 per kg.

Meanwhile, the daily price of premium quality granulated sugar in modern markets in North Sumatra over the past three months has increased by 3.21% from the previously recorded Rp18,700 per kg.

The record increase in the daily price of premium quality granulated sugar in modern markets in this province was previously recorded in February 2017 with a 35.2% increase, and the lowest decrease was recorded in January 2017 with a -26.25% decrease.

According to PIHPS monitoring, today's prices of nine staple foods (sembako) in North Sumatra show that three commodities have decreased and ten others have increased. The staple foods with decreased prices are Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1, Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs, and Chicken Eggs.

Below are the prices of nine staple foods monitored by PIHPS today compared to price developments over the past month in North Sumatra province:

2. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1 per Kg Rp22,950 per kg (down 0.65%)
3. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg Rp22,150 per kg (up 0.91%)
4. Premium Quality Granulated Sugar per Kg Rp19,300 per kg (up 1.31%)
5. Cooking Oil per Kg Rp22,550 per kg (unchanged)
6. Fresh Layer Chicken Eggs per Kg Rp37,350 per kg (down 5.08%)
7. Granulated Sugar per Kg Rp19,800 per kg (up 1.8%)
8. Chicken Eggs per Kg Rp37,350 per kg (down 5.08%)
9. Low Quality I Rice per Kg Rp14,500 per kg (up 5.45%)
10. Super Quality II Rice per Kg Rp16,000 per kg (up 1.27%)
11. Super Quality I Rice per Kg Rp15,800 per kg (unchanged)
12. Medium Quality II Rice per Kg Rp15,600 per kg (up 4.35%)
13. Medium Quality I Rice per Kg Rp15,150 per kg (up 3.41%)
14. Rice per Kg Rp15,350 per kg (up 3.37%)
