Industries with the Largest Investments, First Quarter 2016

In the first quarter of 2016, investment inflows into Indonesia reached Rp 50 trillion. This amount was distributed across more than a thousand projects in nine major sectors of the Indonesian economy. The industrial sector received the highest investment value, reaching Rp 25.5 trillion with 580 projects. Meanwhile, the finance, insurance, and real estate sector had the lowest investment, totaling only Rp 142 billion across 61 projects.

Generally, investors appreciate the improvement in Indonesia's investment climate, including the streamlining of licensing processes and the acceleration of infrastructure development. However, investors also demand policy certainty and clarity in licensing processes, as many on-the-ground realities contradict the government's promotional efforts. The central and regional governments will synergize to provide the best possible investment services for investors.
