Food Prices in West Sumatra Monday (25/8): Rice Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (August 25, 2025) at 12:37 PM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 15 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities with price increases were farmer-level corn, SPHP rice, mackerel, broiler chicken meat, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as milkfish, consumption sugar, packaged wheat flour, bulk wheat flour, and consumption salt decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

Medium rice commodity surged the highest by Rp192 (1.28%) to Rp15,177 per kg. Meanwhile, milkfish prices dropped the deepest by Rp5,000 (11.11%) to Rp40,000 per kg.
