Forbes has released its 2022 list of the world's richest people. Among the 2,668 individuals on this year's list, only 12.25%, or 327 women, are included in the ranking of the world's wealthiest.

The majority, or 226 of these wealthy women, inherited their fortunes. One of them, Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, remains at the top of the list.

Francoise is the granddaughter of the founder of L'Oréal, one of the world's most famous cosmetics brands. Her net worth is US$74.8 billion, or approximately Rp1,073 trillion (using an exchange rate of US$1 = Rp14,357).

Alice Walton, the only child of the founder of Walmart, ranks second among the world's richest women. Alice's net worth is US$65.3 billion. Her wealth increased by approximately US$3.5 billion over the past year thanks to rising Walmart stock.

Next is Julia Koch, the widow of businessman and philanthropist David Koch, with a net worth of US$60 billion.

Meanwhile, MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, occupies fourth place with a total net worth of US$43.6 billion. Jacqueline Mars, heir to Mars Incorporated, ranks fifth with a net worth of US$31.7 billion.
