Local Granulated Sugar Prices in Traditional Markets for the April 2025-2026 Period

According to the latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS) panel, the daily price of local granulated sugar in traditional markets in Central Java province is recorded at Rp17,85 thousand. This price remains unchanged compared to the previous day, as with the price developments over the past week.

Compared to the past month, the daily local granulated sugar price in traditional markets has increased from the previously recorded Rp17,55 thousand.

Meanwhile, over the past three months, the daily local granulated sugar price in Central Java's traditional markets has increased by 4.08% from the previously recorded Rp17,15 thousand.

The record increase in the daily local granulated sugar price in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in March 2020 with a 36.23% increase, and the lowest decrease was also recorded in March 2020 with a -25.71% decrease.

According to PIHPS monitoring, today's prices of nine staple foods (sembako) in Central Java show that nine commodities have decreased while 21 others have increased. The sembako with decreased prices are Super I Quality Rice, Lower I Quality Rice, Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2, Medium I Quality Rice, Grade 2 Beef, Medium II Quality Rice, Grade 1 Beef, Beef, and Rice.

Below are the prices of the nine staple foods monitored by PIHPS today compared to their price developments over the past month in Central Java province:

2. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 1 per Kg: Rp22,3 thousand per kg (up 5.94%)
3. Super I Quality Rice per Kg: Rp17,35 thousand per kg (down 3.88%)
4. Red Chili per Kg: Rp83,3 thousand per kg (up 55.7%)
5. Super II Quality Rice per Kg: Rp16,55 thousand per kg (up 0.61%)
6. Lower I Quality Rice per Kg: Rp13,05 thousand per kg (down 1.14%)
7. Branded Packaged Cooking Oil 2 per Kg: Rp21,3 thousand per kg (down 0.23%)
8. Chicken Meat per Kg: Rp45,45 thousand per kg (up 3.18%)
9. Large Red Chili per Kg: Rp89,8 thousand per kg (up 64.02%)
10. Medium I Quality Rice per Kg: Rp14,85 thousand per kg (down 1.33%)
11. Grade 2 Beef per Kg: Rp192,65 thousand per kg (down 2.11%)
12. Cooking Oil per Kg: Rp21,65 thousand per kg (up 2.12%)
13. Chicken Eggs per Kg: Rp27,55 thousand per kg (up 0.92%)
14. Medium II Quality Rice per Kg: Rp14 thousand per kg (down 1.06%)
