South Sumatra Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall (Monday, March 4, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (4/3/2024) at 11.27 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 12 commodities increased in price and 7 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include milkfish, red chilies, broiler chicken meat, pure beef, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as simple packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), medium rice, bulk cooking oil, and mackerel have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp3,560 (5.03%) to Rp74,390 per kg. Mackerel experienced the lowest price decrease, falling Rp1,270 (3.86%) to Rp31,620 per kg.
