Today's Food Prices (20/3) in South Sumatra: Chicken Meat and Bird's Eye Chili Prices Rise

Several food commodity prices in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Quoting data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Friday (March 20, 2026) at 17:13 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 1 commodity decreased.

Commodities that experienced price increases are red bird's eye chili, beef hindquarter, curly red chili, broiler chicken meat, and large red chili.

Meanwhile, only premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's price.

Beef hindquarter prices jumped the highest by Rp4,375 (3.01%) to Rp149,688 per kg. Premium rice prices decreased the most by Rp5 (0.03%) to Rp14,541 per kg.

5. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp39,020 per kg (up 1.38%)
6. Shallots: Rp37,020 per kg (up 0.59%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp35,479 per kg (up 1.43%)
8. Broiler Eggs: Rp29,294 per kg (up 0.6%)
9. Packaged Premium Palm Cooking Oil: Rp19,712 per liter (stable)
10. Bulk Granulated Sugar: Rp17,377 per kg (stable)
