Central Java Food Prices on Monday (February 17th): Onion and Chili Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Monday (February 17, 2025) at 13:52 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include milkfish, skipjack tuna, chicken eggs, Minyakita (a brand of cooking oil), and large red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, pure beef, red cayenne pepper, packaged cooking oil, and table salt decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of curly red chilies surged the highest, by Rp1,153 (2.8%) to Rp42,283 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red cayenne pepper fell the most sharply, by Rp2,944 (4.93%) to Rp56,764 per kg.
