Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt Up, Onions Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (12/6/2024) at 08.36 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, bulk wheat flour, fine iodized salt, garlic bulbs, and bulk cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, milkfish, farmer-level corn, shallots, and simple packaged cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Fine iodized salt saw the highest price increase, up by Rp6,890 (42.77%) to Rp23,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of Indian mackerel experienced the sharpest decrease, down by Rp15,290 (31.02%) to Rp34,000 per kg.

2. Curly Red Chilies: Rp65,000 per kg (up 1.14%)
3. Garlic Bulbs: Rp40,000 per kg (up 0.53%)
4. Shallots: Rp36,000 per kg (down 15.47%)
5. Indian Mackerel: Rp34,000 per kg (down 31.02%)
6. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp32,000 per kg (down 8.26%)
7. Milkfish: Rp30,000 per kg (down 6.04%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp30,000 per kg (up 3.41%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp28,000 per kg (down 12.34%)
10. Fine Iodized Salt: Rp23,000 per kg (up 42.77%)
11. Premium Rice: Rp19,000 per kg (up 9.83%)
12. Table Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (down 0.28%)
