Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt and Chicken Prices Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (24/12/2024) at 08.04 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include cooking oil (loose), red chilies, dry soybeans (import), granulated sugar, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as wheat flour (loose), premium rice, shallots, garlic bulbs, and packaged wheat flour (non-loose) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices surged the highest by Rp23,490 (64.34%) to Rp60,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of loose wheat flour decreased the most sharply by Rp1,520 (15.97%) to Rp8,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 18 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on December 24, 2024, at 08.04 WIB.

1. Pure Beef: Rp140,000 per kg (down 2.28%)
2. Mackerel: Rp60,000 per kg (up 17.81%)
3. Skipjack Tuna: Rp60,000 per kg (up 64.34%)
4. Broiler Chicken: Rp42,000 per kg (up 12.72%)
5. Garlic Bulbs: Rp40,000 per kg (down 0.55%)
6. Red Chilies: Rp40,000 per kg (up 3.41%)
7. Shallots: Rp30,000 per kg (down 3.72%)
8. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,000 per kg (down 12.69%)
9. Fine Iodized Salt: Rp20,000 per kg (up 30.12%)
10. Granulated Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (up 0.33%)
11. Cooking Oil (Loose): Rp18,000 per liter (up 4.11%)
12. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (down 3.54%)
13. Premium Rice: Rp16,000 per kg (down 7.41%)
