Sumatera Selatan's Current Food Prices: Chili Prices Rise, Sugar Prices Fall

The price of several food commodities in South Sumatra today is observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (18/11/2024) at 09.49 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include SHP rice, skipjack tuna, red chilies, premium rice, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, chicken eggs, broiler chicken, dry soybean (import), and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase of Rp1,120 (4.83%), reaching Rp24,330 per kg. Meanwhile, bulk wheat flour experienced the largest price decrease of Rp170 (1.91%), reaching Rp8,750 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on November 18, 2024, at 09.49 WIB.

6. Mackerel: Rp33,180 per kg (down 0.54%)
7. Milkfish: Rp27,570 per kg (down 0.18%)
8. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,430 per kg (up 0.7%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,210 per kg (down 0.34%)
10. Red Chilies: Rp24,330 per kg (up 4.83%)
