Food Prices Today January 08 in West Sumatra: Garlic Up, Red Chili Down

The prices of several food items in West Sumatra today were observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Basic Needs Market Monitoring System of the Ministry of Trade (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (1/8/2026) at 15.51 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 3 commodities rose and 4 commodities fell.

The commodities with price increases are purebred chicken meat, purebred chicken eggs, and Honan garlic.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as curly red chili, shallots, large red chili, and red bird's eye chili decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Honan garlic rose the most by Rp222 (0.67%) to Rp33,444 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chili fell the sharpest by Rp3,630 (7.24%) to Rp46,500 per kg.

6. Shallots: Rp38,028 per kg (down 0.43%)
7. Honan Garlic: Rp33,444 per kg (up 0.67%)
8. Purebred Chicken Eggs: Rp30,186 per kg (up 0.28%)
